A window dipole and a metal façade
The full article is currently available in Russian.
A dipole outside the window
For my current experiments on 144 MHz, I use a vertical dipole mounted outside the window.
The next task is fitting a 28 MHz dipole at or outside the window. Space is limited, so I am considering different layouts and ways to bend the elements. The final design has not been chosen yet.
IC-705, Mac and FT8
I am connecting my Icom IC-705 to a Mac for WSJT-X. The focus is radio control, USB audio and testing reception and transmission.
Fldigi is a separate topic: I am getting familiar with the program and its settings. These are working notes, not a finished setup guide.

Less loss in the cable
I have ordered a replacement for the thin feedline: 9 metres of 50-ohm HANSEN LCF 1/2″ with two fitted N-female connectors.
The plan uses RG142 tails at both ends: 20 cm by the radio and 2.5 m through the window on the antenna side, with ferrite and a cable loop. The allowance for the turns still needs checking during assembly.
Measurements and a comparison with the old feedline come after assembly. This is the planned configuration, not a set of measured results.
An SSTV postcard from the ISS
During an ISS radio pass, I received an SSTV transmission with a Yaesu FT-70D handheld radio.
I captured the SSTV signal from the speaker and decoded it into an image using an app. The result was an ISS postcard for World Space Week 2025.
